CsqDesigns: How To Get Your Child To Clean Her Room

My friend Casey of CsqDesigns has fantastic taste, artistically, and in her choice of friends, wink.
She's not only creative, she's a smart mom too!

CsqDesigns: How To Get Your Child To Clean Her Room:   I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I really like mango. And coffee.  You're probably thinking, "Wh...

Baby it's cold outside! Like freezing!

So this is what we woke up to this morning, outside my daughters bedroom window...
Just let that sink in a moment.....
Ok, so now that we are on the same page here. YIKES. It doesn't appear that it's all that close, however when you look at the distance from the tree to the buildings, this tree was right outside our apartment. The thought of what could have happened, is very frightening. But with God's providence, we are all ok, and so are our neighbors. I hope the part that is still standing stays there, it's appears to be leaning pretty good.
How is the weather at your place?

In other news, I survived my first trip to Lifeway's VBS Preview Agency D3. I had a great time in the sessions, learned a lot about VBS that I had never really understood before and picked up some great ideas for decorations. Looking forward to the fun we will have!

1Peter 3:16
But honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.

Discover Decide Defend,

love the theme.
I love the idea of using
crazy straws
as lightbulbs! Fantastic!
Here is just one of the
many examples the had
on display.

And finally, I have got chevrons on the brain. In fact I have so many ideas that I am having great difficulty finishing one before starting another. Here is the proof. I love the black and red, but I am sooo excited about the yellow and grey. Tempted to start another with three colors, and very skinny stripes. hmmmm.... Guess I'd better go get some work done...

Found it!

So.... last night after putting my daughter to bed, I got ready to curl up on the couch to watch The Biggest Loser and work on my forever long never ending sock yarn blanket. Here is a quick shot of it. There are loads of different ways to make the mitered squares that make up this blanket. When I have more time I will go more into detail on how mine is put together.

And all the sudden, I realize, where is my needle bag!? I searched and searched, I was near panic mode, all thru the house. I even ventured to guess that my precious 6 year old had it in her room, NOOOOOOO! And then there it appeared on the couch, tucked under a pillow, you know where it belongs right?

Where is the oddest place you've found what you lost?

Purpose

“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Purpose... What is my purpose, this is a question I've struggled with for my whole life. So far my purpose has been...
make ice cream at Dairy Queen
help the sick as a CNA
help you pay for your food as a cashier for Kroger
get the knots out as a Massage Therapist
do everything as a Mom
Have I found my purpose yet... Not sure. I desire to make a difference, will that be thru knitting and crochet in the big bad fiber world. Who knows. This Thursday and Friday I will leave to go to Nashville with a group from my church. I will be learning about how to decorate for VBS. Will a few yards of paper taped to the wall fulfill a longing for purpose in my life? We will find out.
Welcome to my blog...
I promise a few things...
I will talk about knitting and crochet and yarn.
I will talk about my daughter and how she challenges me everyday.
I will talk about my church and my faith.
I hope to include lots of pictures and stories that I find interesting and/or important.
I hope you love it, I hope you share it!
